Junior Curator Program
Interested in what goes on behind the scenes at the Zoo? We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic teens to join our programs. Selected teens volunteer with keepers and staff to see what it takes to run the zoo and inspire the next generation.

Junior Curators are selected once a year. Prospective volunteers and their parents may attend an optional information session on May 3 from 1– 3 pm, in the Rosser Conservation Education Center to learn more about the program.
Junior Curator FAQs
2014-2015 Junior Curator Recruitment Process:
- Must be between 14 – 18 years by August 1.
- Applications available May 1 – May 31 on this page and at Guest Relations.
- Complete and return an application by the May 31 deadline.
- Teens must attend the mandatory group interview on June 12, 6:00 - 9:00 pm. If you are unable to attend this interview, you must email firstname.lastname@example.org for information on how to proceed.
- Teens must also attend a mandatory individual interview (dates announced at group interview).
- Notifications are mailed to applicants in August.
- Students accepted into the Junior Curator program train in September and begin in October.

Scout Project Checklist
- Must be 18 or older.
- Must attend orientation and recruitment session.
- Orientation begins at 10am followed by interviews.
- Held in the Rosser Conservation Education Center.
- Applications available only during orientation.
- Subject to background check, TB test and drug screening.

ANIMAL AREA VOLUNTEERS:
Assist Zoo Keepers with their animal husbandry duties. Work behind the scenes to help clean, and maintain our animal exhibits and enrich the lives of our animal residents. A perfect fit for those looking to get experience in the field of zoology. Please note there is no unauthorized contact with animals!
